Keysia’s Travel is a dynamic travel agency in the heart of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, specialising in travel to Burkina Faso, Mali and Benin.
We chatted to GM of Keysia’s Travel, Severine Traore, about her greatest accomplishments in 2017 and her wishes for 2018.
What was your greatest accomplishment in 2017 as a travel agent?
We founded Keysia’s Travel 12 years ago and for these past 12 past we’ve always been 100% Amadeus.
In 2017, my greatest accomplishment has been that I have reached my goals in terms of turnover. I reached the turnover I had set out for 2017 already in the third trimester of the year.
I have to admit that I managed to reach this financial goal thanks to Amadeus, and thanks to the products Amadeus has put in place.
Especially Remote Ticketing Solution (RTS) has helped us, not only by increasing our bottom line, but also by helping our non-IATA agencies become more independent.
Also Amadeus LINK has helped us tremendously in 2017. LINK has allowed us to meticulously follow our sales. The product showed us immediately when sales during a certain month were low, allowing us to make up any lost income during the next month.
Thanks to these Amadeus solutions, we have managed to reach our goals for 2017 quite early in the year.
What do you see as your greatest challenge for 2018?
We’re already looking forward to 2018. The greatest challenge I have set for myself is to become the best travel agency in Burkina Faso.
What is your wish and your message for the travel industry for 2018?
For 2018, I would like to wish all the best to all travel agents. In Burkina Faso, the past two years have been very difficult economically. I truly wish that 2018 will be better and easier than the past two years.
I also wish for travel agents to learn to become more professional in 2018. Only true professionalism will allow us to face the challenges of the travel industry and to show travellers that the travel industry is more than just issuing tickets.
Thanks to Amadeus Profiles, travel agents have all the information about their travellers at their fingertips. We know everything about them, such as for example their birth date. This information allows us to be more professional. We can pick up the phone for instance and call the client on their birthday to wish them a happy birthday.
As travel agents, we need to become more professional in everything we do in 2018.
