“Working with these great teams is the biggest opportunity the role of Operations Manager brings me,” she tells us. “We have the most amazing team dynamic. To know that, every day, I can work and interact with these wonderful minds is one of the best parts of my job, as it allows me to learn something new every day.”
Before her role as Operations Manager, Rahma worked as Mid & Back Office Product Manager. Her job was to provide mid and back office solutions to Amadeus customers, including scheduling demos, training and providing on-site support to clients. She joined Amadeus in June 2013 and says there’s only one way to describe Amadeus: “It’s a company full of surprises!”
What Rahma loves most about the expertise she gained in mid-and back-office solutions at Amadeus is that she can simplify her clients’ lives through automation. “I love sitting down with customers and offer them solutions that will enhance their business decision-making abilities. I can simplify – or even eliminate – repetitive tasks for them by introducing automation solutions to them.”
Rahma explains travel agents in the region are often still using manual excel worksheets to fill in or extract information, or they work with manual receipts books. “To sit with them and present solutions to them that can automate everything from front office to invoicing and receipts, that excites not only them but me as well.”
When she is not working, Rahma enjoys spending time with her two children, her family and her friends. “I used to do a lot of yoga, but in the past few years, it has taken a bit of a back seat,” she admits. Rahma also loves to travel both within Kenya and throughout Africa.
“I love Watamu because of its amazing white beaches, but I also enjoy visiting the Masai Mara as I can honestly say this is the best place to see our continent’s amazing wildlife,” she says. Outside Kenya, Rahma loves travelling to Zanzibar because of the country’s rich cultural history.
