2017 has been an eventful year with ups and downs for the travel industry in Africa. Throughout it all, we at Amadeus have been at your side posting informative, thought-provoking and sometimes even silly blogs from the African travel industry.
We’ve decided to crunch the numbers and have identified your five favourite Amadeus blogs of 2017.
Turnup.Travel changing the way young Kenyans view local travel
Kenya has some of the best tourism sites in the world, but to really take advantage of the opportunities tourism has to offer, the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Tourism urged tourism stakeholders to start offering Kenyan-friendly packages to encourage domestic tourism.
Understanding this gap in the market, young travel enthusiasts Brian Gatimu & Muthuri Kinyamu founded Turnup.Travel. Read all about their journey here.
Women at the top – Meet Air Mauritius’ Carla da Silva
Despite the large number of women who make up the travel and tourism workforce, unfortunately there are still very few women at the top.
However, in Africa, we have some amazing, powerful and successful women at the top of the ladder in the travel industry. Amongst these women is Air Mauritius’ Carla da Silva. We sat down with her to chat about what it takes to make it to the top. Read the full interview here.
Chit-Chat with fashionista Ruheena Jiwa Shah
