Several of our valued Amadeus clients walked away with awards at the 25th edition of the World Travel Awards Africa and the Indian Oceans. The star-studded Gala Ceremony was held last week in Durban, South Africa.

Renowned as the “Oscars” of the global travel and tourism industry, the World Travel Awards awarded the elite of the travel industry.

Aviation

 Ethiopian Airlines  – Africa’s Leading Airline and Leading Airline Brand

 

Ethiopian Airlines received the much-coveted award of Africa’s Leading Airline and Airline Brand.

“Ethiopian Airlines has been enjoying a lot of wards from every corner of the world, but this Award is special,” said Redi Yusud, Managing Director – Ethiopian International Services.

Fastjet – Africa’s Leading Low-Cost Airline

The title of Africa’s Leading Low-Cost Airline went to fastjet. “It is very encouraging to be recognised by the people that matter the most to us, our customers,” says fastjet chief executive officer Nico Bezuidenhout.

“It has been an exceptional journey until now, not without its ups and downs, but with an unwavering resolve by every member of the fastjet family to deliver the very best connectivity, on-time performance and value driven air travel to our customers.”

Kenya Airways – Africa’s Leading Economy Class and Business Class

Kenya Airways was awarded prices for the Leading Economy Class in Africa as well as the Leading Business Class.

Air Mauritius – Leading Indian Oceans Airline

In the Indian Oceans, Air Mauritius claimed a lion’s share of the honours, winning ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline’, ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline – Business Class’, ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline Brand’, and ‘Indian Ocean’s Airport Lounge’.

Corporate & Retail Travel

Bonfire Adventures – Africa’s Leading Travel Agency

For the second year in a row. Bonfire Adventures scooped the award of Africa’s leading travel agency. The agency also walked away with the title of Kenya’s Leading Travel Agency.

Carlson Wagonlit Kenya – Kenya’s Leading Travel Management Company


“Our 9th year winning at the World Travel Awards!!! Carlson Wagonlit Kenya is Kenya’s Leading Travel Management Company 2018!! Congratulation to the entire team on this incredible award! Club Travel – South Africa’s Leading Travel Agency

 

For the past five years, Club Travel has bagged the award for South Africa’s Leading Travel Agency.

“The World Travel Awards is recognised as the ultimate symbol of excellence within the industry. Club Travel has been voted South Africa’s Leading Travel Agency consecutively since 2014 and winning this award demonstrates our position as a leader in the travel industry and our ability to adapt to this ever-changing industry and still come out tops,” Mohammed Jogee, Sales & Marketing Director, Club Travel Corporate said.

FCM Travel Solutions – Africa’s Leading Travel Management Company

 

FCM Travel Solutions General Manager Nicole Adonis was “thrilled” at taking the title for the fourth consecutive year and said the brand had enjoyed a hugely successful last year in Africa.

“We are extremely proud to win this award for another year. It is an outstanding achievement and testament to the exceptional travel management services, professionalism and value that our people provide for clients in this region,” she said.

Flight Site – South Africa’s Leading Online Travel Agency 

“We’re delighted and proud to announce that FlightSite has won the World Travel Award for South Africa’s Leading Online Travel Agency 2018 at the World Travel Awards. Thank you for all the support!” the company said.

Giltedge Africa – South Africa’s Leading Luxury Tour Operator

HRG Nigeria – Nigeria’s Leading Travel Management Company

For the fourth year in a row, HRG Nigeria received the accolade of Nigeria’s Leading Travel Management Company.

Kearsleys – Tanzania’s Leading Inbound Tour Operator 2018 

Kearsleys scooped the award for Tanzania’s Leading Inbound Tour Operator for the third year in a row.

Satguru Travel and Tourism – Africa’s Leading Business Travel Agency

Satguru Travel and Tourism was named the Leading Business Travel Agency in Africa. Satguru also won best travel agency in Nigeria, Rwanda and Tanzania.

Uniglobe Skylink Travel & Tours – Tanzania’s Leading Travel Management Company
