Several of our valued Amadeus clients walked away with awards at this year’s World Travel Awards Africa and the Indian Oceans. The star-studded Gala Ceremony was held last week in Mauritius.

Renowned as the “Oscars” of the global travel and tourism industry, the World Travel Awards awarded the elite of the travel industry.

Winners at the red carpet reception included Kenya, home to some of the world’s greatest tourist attractions, was voted ‘Africa’s Leading Destination’. Nairobi was also named Africa’s leading business travel destination at this year’s 26th Annual World Travel Award.

Meanwhile the lush forests, wild waterfalls, unique wildlife and paradise beaches of Mauritius helped it lift the title of ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination’, as well as the new category of ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination’.

For the second year in a row, Ethiopian Airlines was voted ‘Africa’s Leading Airline’.

The title of Leading Airline for both Business Class and Economy Class went to Kenya Airways this year. Kenya Airways’ Business Class has been the winner for seven years in a row.

Scooping the Award for Africa’s Leading Business Travel Agency for the second year in a row is Satguru Travel & Tourism. JVR Fernando, Commercial Director (West Africa, ME & Asia), commented on the win saying: “Above all, we thank our staff who are dedicated and loyal and who have made it possible for us to win this award.”

He continued: “We are proud and happy to win this award and we have a lot of plans for 2020-2022. We are expanding.”

 

FlightSite – Leading Online Travel Agency

Africa Travel Awards

This is the 8th time FlightSite is walking away with the title of Africa’s Leading Online Travel Agency. Rian Bornman, Managing Director, said he is very proud to have won this award.

Club Travel, South Africa – Leading Travel Agency

The title of Africa’s Leading Travel Agency goes to Club Travel. The agency was also awarded South Africa’s Leading Travel Agency.

FCM Travel Solutions – Leading Travel Management Company

FCM Travel Solutions has scooped the title of Africa’s Leading Travel Management Company at the World Travel Awards for the fifth year in a row.

The title was announced at the prestigious World Travel Awards Africa & Indian Oceans Gala Ceremony at the Sugar Beach Resort in Mauritius on 01 June 2019.

FCM Travel Solutions’ General Manager for Africa Nicole Adonis said FCM was honoured to bring home the award for the fifth time. “Our unwavering focus on the customers’ needs in Africa combined with industry-leading technology solutions and personal service is what sets us apart year after year,” she says.
