The 1rst edition of the CWA Travel Leaders Forum was held in Nice From 25 to 28 March.

Amadeus brought close to 80 travel leaders from 12 countries in the region together under the theme “Découvrons. Echangeons. Transformons. L’avenir du voyage est entre nos mains”.

Amadeus shared their vision of the future and of travel trends outlining how the traveler was at the heart of their distribution strategy during an animated presentation by Rudy Daniello, Vice-chairman, Distribution Product Management, Amadeus. Pascal Perri, economist, author of books and essays on economics, contributed an outside view and valuable perspectives about the digital revolution and the development of online activity. An invitation to “S’adapter aux changements de demain. Maintenant” was sent to travel agents through the testimonies of travel agents: Wakanow from Nigeria and Voyages See More from Nice (France). Present during the event, Emmanuel Gabas, Associate Director Voyages See More, shared his experience further answering to the questions of Sam Abdou, Associate Director, Head of Leisure Unit, Amadeus.

Amadeus also touched on two very important subjects for the future of travel in the region: payments and mobile services. If difficulties still exist with regard to travel payments, ways of action exist. And that is the message that Amadeus “Travel Payment” got across to their audience with their partner Flocash (www.flocash.com). On the other hand, Kelly Ermis, Online Solution Specialist, Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Solution Centre, Amadeus, introduced Amadeus offer regarding mobile services.

Demonstration sessions were also organized during this Forum to allow participants to share, in small groups, with Amadeus products experts. Four products or solutions were showcased:

  • Amadeus e-Travel Management (AeTM), online booking tool (SBT, Self-Booking Tool) that meets each of corporate travel needs.
  • Amadeus Business Management Platform, an innovative platform for the management of activities.
  • Amadeus Integrated Mid Office (AIMO), an easy-to-use invoicing system, completely integrated with Amadeus Selling Platform with easy access to bookings, clients profiles, finance data, documents and full report functions.
  • Amadeus Content Store, online portal integrated with Amadeus system allowing access to more than 150 000 hotel properties worldwide in a single display.
