“A great refresher on all the Amadeus products, as well as a couple of good laughs and fantastic prices!” That was the feedback from Mauritian Amadeus Quality Managers who recently joined Fiona Rajah Gopal and her team at the Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel in Mauritius.
“We covered a great number of products in one single morning,” says Fiona. “We discussed Amadeus Ticket Changer, Dynamic Travel Documents, Light Ticketing and of course Amadeus Selling Platform Connect. This year, Selling Platform Connect was definitely the focus of the AQM workshop as we wish to be the first country in Southern Africa to have completely switched over to the platform.”
The feedback from travel agents on the AQM and on the adoption of Amadeus Selling Platform Connect has been absolutely phenomenal, according to Fiona.
“Just a quick word to thank you and your team for organising Friday’s AQM which once more was beneficial for me and the team. I’m looking forward to the next one,” said Nicky Taikie Coorjee, travel consultant and Operations Director at Hotemart.
“I loved the fact that the Amadeus explained to us how we can better personalise Amadeus Selling Platform Connect with our own images and details,” said another consultant, Harold Renaud of Avia Travel. “This presentation really made me realise I want to explore what technology can do for my agency in the future.”
To liven things up at the AQM workshop this year, Fiona and her team decided to invite airline representatives to give presentations. Says Fiona: “Air Asia for example introduced Light Ticketing to the AQMs as the airline recently became available on Amadeus.”
“The presentations made by the airlines were a very nice touch to the AQMs,” General Manager Summer Times Voyages Martine Duval raved about the workshop.
Not only did the airlines present Amadeus’ products, they also gave away air tickets to various destinations. Air Asia gave away tickets to Kuala Lumpur, Emirates offered London return tickets, Air Austral gave one lucky travel agent the opportunity to travel to Reunion, while Air Mauritius awarded a travel agent a return flight to Johannesburg.
“The lucky draws for airline prizes definitely kept travel agents on their toes throughout the workshop,” laughs Fiona. “Not one travel agent left before the end of the workshop.”
“I’m really happy to have won a ticket to South Africa, and I’m looking forward to my trip in May this year,” says Harold, who was the lucky winner of the Air Mauritius’ price.
